The Run the Line Half Marathon is a unique opportunity to run in one half marathon in Texas and Arkansas on a USATF certified single-loop course. The race starts at W Broad Street and Texas Blvd in downtown Texarkana, TX, quickly moves into Arkansas, crosses back into Texas, and finishes in Texarkana, AR. The course includes two park 10-ft wide asphalt trails and residential neighborhoods on city streets. The finish line is downtown at 3rd and Wood Streets in front of the Hopkins Ice House about 5 blocks from the start. The Run the Line Half Marathon will comply with Arkansas and Texas Covid-19 guidelines.
We are proud to be in the prestigious 2022 Arkansas Grand Prix Series for the 11th year. Information about the Grand Prix series is available at www.arkrrca.com. We are also a Road Runner Club of America event member.
A portion of the course is on the Texas/Arkansas State Line. The 2022 course is USATF certified (AR19015WJT). The race includes chip timing and 2-person relay teams. To support youth participation in running races, 13 through 17 year old runners receive an automatic 10% entry fee discount in either event. Our finish line post-race activities will follow Arkansas and Texas Covid-19 guidelines that are effective in February.

Start: The race starts at 7:30 a.m. for all runners with starting waves based on estimated mile time. There is no early start. Look for Pace Groups with 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, and 2:30 signs at the start. The start is at the intersection of Broad Street and Texas Blvd. This is one block west of the start used in past years. The course closes at 11:30 a.m. For participant safety and official race timing, finish the race by 11:30 a.m.
Course & Maps: Four miles of the course are on two park 10-ft wide asphalt trails with the remainder on coned off city streets. The course does have several long hills. Water stops and restrooms are near miles 2.3, 3.5, 5, 6.5, 8, 9.8, 11 and 12; multiple police officers; and 100+ volunteers are stationed along the course. Several musical entertainers are also on the course. The Course Map with marked water stops, restrooms, and relay team exchange point locations is posted on this site.
Two Gear Drop-Off Locations: Prior to the race start, runners may drop off gear inside the west end of the Bi-State Justice Building one block from the start. The second gear drop-off location is not far past the 1-mile marker. Put your name on your gear. Do not drop off valuables. Gear from the two drop-off locations will be brought to the finish line and set on a table in one of the large tents across the street from the Hopkins Ice House. Gear dropped off at any other location on the course will not be brought to the finish line. We do our best to get all gear from the two drop-off locations to the finish line. We are not responsible for belongings that are dropped off or items that are brought to the finish line.
General Registration Information: Race participants must be at least 13 years old on race day. Race participants ages 13 through 17 will automatically receive a 10% entry fee Youth Discount when they register. Pets make great training partners but leave them at home on race day (exception for certified service dogs). For everyone's safety, strollers are not allowed on the course. Please do not wear ear buds during the race. We want all of your senses alert to any potential issues on the course. The entry fee is non-refundable for any reason. Bad weather may result in delays or cancellation.
Packet Pick-up & Late Registration: Packet Pick-Up and late registration are Friday, February 18 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Racquet & Jog, 3435 Richmond Road, Texarkana, TX. Racquet & Jog is located on the north side of the building. Late registration is online only. Tablets will be available for registration or bring your tablet to register. There is no paper registration. Registration payment at Packet Pick-Up is by credit card, check, or cash. To pick-up your packet, bring an electronic or paper copy of your RunSignUp Registration Confirmation and Bib Number. Packet Pick-Up stations are in Bib Number order.
Race Day Packet-Up and Late Registration: Race Day Packet Pick-Up is from 6:15 a.m. to 7:10 a.m. downtown inside the multi-storied Bi-State Justice Building at the intersection of Broad and Main Streets. Enter the west end of the building. The Broad and Texas Blvd start is one block west of the Bi-State Justice Building. There is NO race day registration. To pick up your packet, bring an electronic or paper copy of your Registration Confirmation and Bib Number. Packet pick-up stations are in Bib Number order.
Two Ladies' and two Men's restrooms are available inside the Bi-State Justice Building on the 1st floor. Two additional Ladies' restrooms are available on the 2nd floor. Look for volunteers pointing to the elevators. Multiple outdoor port-a-potties are available near the start.
Proxy Packet Pick-Up: Participants are encouraged to pick-up their packets at Packet Pickup on Friday or Saturday. A friend or family member may serve as your proxy to pick-up your packet. Your proxy must have a paper or electronic copy of both your Registration Confirmation and your driver's license to pick up your packet. Your proxy needs to know your Bib number. Packet Pick-Up stations are in Bib Number order.
Medal: The 2022 Finisher Medal is for all race finishers. Runners finishing by 11:30 a.m. receive a finisher's medal.
Awards: Awards for the Top Overall three female and male finishers, Master, Grand Master, and Senior will be available in a large tent across the street from the Hopkins Ice House. Volunteers will hand out the awards. Top three female and male Overall Finishers receive $100 gift certificates. Only one award per person.
Awards for the top three places for female and male in all age groups: 13-19, 20-24, and every five years thereafter to 80+ and top three places for 2-person relay teams. Awards for relay teams and top three places for all age groups can be picked up from volunteers manning tables in a tent across the street from the Hopkins Ice House as the results are printed and available. To minimize errors, we will only distribute awards verified by an official printout of the results. Only one award per person.
Host Hotels: The host hotels' special rates are available only by calling the hotel and requesting a Run the Line room or using their links listed below to make a reservation for rooms reserved for the Run the Line Half Marathon. The hotels offer a hot breakfast beginning at 5:30 am. Late checkout will be available until 1:00 pm, if you request it.

Directions going west on IH-30 from Little Rock: Take Exit 223-Stateline Avenue to the frontage road heading west. Quickly move into the right lane. The hotel is on your right. Turn right onto Crossroads Parkway. The hotel is ahead on your right.
Directions going east on IH-30 from Dallas: Take Exit 1-Jefferson Street to the frontage road heading east. Continue to a stop sign. Then, turn left onto the Jefferson Street overpass over I-30. Turn left onto the frontage road. Go west on the frontage road about a quarter of a mile until you see several hotels on your right. Move to the right lane and turn right onto Crossroads Parkway. The hotel is on your right.

Take the left fork of the frontage road under Summerhill Road. The Red Lobster is coming up on the right. Immediately after the Red Lobster, turn right onto N. Cowhorn Creek Loop. The TownePlace Suites is on your right. The Courtyard is on your left.
Directions for both Texas hotels going east on IH-30 from Dallas: Take Exit 222-Summerhill Road. Continue east to Summerhill Road. Take the Texas Turnaround (a U-turn lane) and merge left onto the frontage road. Continue west and move to the right lane. The Red Lobster is coming up on the right. Immediately after the Red Lobster, turn right onto N. Cowhorn Creek Loop. The TownePlace Suites is on your right. The Courtyard is on your left.

Driving Directions and Parking: The race starting line is at the intersection of Broad Street and Texas Blvd. Note this a one block to the west of years prior to 2020. Please do not park in a church parking lot on Sunday morning.
Directions from IH-30: Exit Stateline Avenue and go south approximately 3 miles. Go around the Post Office and continue on Stateline Avenue for three blocks. The starting line is two blocks to your right at Broad Street and Texas Blvd. Park in any open parking lots, or on Broad Street, or on Front Street one block south of Broad Street. Please do not park in a church parking lot.
Directions from IH-549: Take the Texas Loop and exit South Stateline. Turn right onto South Stateline Avenue. Exit 3rd Street to the right. Turn right onto Stateline Avenue and park in any open parking areas, or on Broad Street, or on Front Street one block south of Broad Street. The starting line is two blocks to your right (west) of Stateline Avenue at the intersection of Broad Street and Texas Blvd. Please do not park in a church parking lot.
Registration will open later this year on RunSignUp for the Kids Run the Line Too! The 1-mile run/walk event will be held on Saturday, February 19 at 4:00 p.m. Kids 5 through 12 years old run or walk the event with adult sign-off. All participating kids are winners with a t-shirt, finisher medal, and racing bib. More information will be available on RunSignUp.
All runners are required to return their timing chip to the chip removal area.
Important Note: For the 2-person relay, each runner will wear one of the shoe tags/chips. The first person in each relay team will need to get their chip to the finish line chip removal area. Do not cross the finish line more than once with that chip.
The Run the Line Half Marathon is committed to having a safe race for participants and volunteers. We are monitoring Arkansas and Texas COVID-19 guidelines. We will email our registered participants about updates or revisions as needed. Registered participants will be notified how COVID-19 may impact the 2022 Run the Line Half Marathon as we move forward. Updates will be added to this page.
