About this Race Series

The Maine Track Club Grand Prix Series awards prizes to runners based on their results in 10 events owned or supported by MTC -- the Midwinter Classic 10-Miler, the Longfellow Frostbite 3K, the Mother's Day 5K, the Field and Forest 5-Miler, the Clam Festival Classic, the Peaks Island Road Race, Fairgrounds 5K and Mile, the Maine Marathon and Half Marathon, the Farm to Farm Ultra and the Turkey Trot. Races that are canceled will not count in the series and will not be replaced by other events.

Runners accumulate points toward both the overall series standings and age-group standings. To be eligible to win an award, participants must be an MTC member before the final race in the series -- the Turkey Trot -- but all finishers each race are scored, regardless of membership. The top scorer in each division who is a club member will be declared the Grand Prix winner.

A first-place overall finish (divided by gender) is worth 50 points, 2nd is worth 49 points, etc. For age-group standings, 1st place is worth 25 points, 2nd is worth 24 points, etc. All finishers will receive at least one point in the overall and age-group standings.
