If you know me, you know that I love penguins. They are my passion. I write stories about them, draw pictures of them, travel all over the world to see them. So when I think about the fact that some penguin species may go extinct in my lifetime, it’s like a punch to the gut. That’s why I’m participating in The Penguin Pedal to raise money for penguin research and conservation.
How It Works
The Penguin Pedal is a virtual bike-a-thon. Through August 31st, anytime I ride my bicycle, I'll log my distance on the RunSignUp website, earning badges as I go. You can follow my progress here! My travels will be tracked on a map of Antarctica, with landmarks representing real penguin colonies.
Proceeds from my ride go towards Penguins International, a non-profit organization that continually works to educate and inspire. This year, I hope to raise $100 towards saving the penguins. It would mean a lot if you could help me meet that goal.
