Become a Trailblazer
Information
We’re back with the fourth annual Fall Line Trailblazer to continue growing awareness and support of this game-changing trail. Building on the success of our last Trailblazer, we will lead a series of guided hikes along sections of the Fall Line on Saturday, October 19. You can join one, some, or all of them. Plus, our exclusive Fall Line Trailblazer swag is back, including a branded magnet, your choice of a long or short-sleeved shirt, and Hydro Flask water bottle! Consider donating to support the work to build this signature trail and this year's swag can be yours!
The Fall Line has continued to gather momentum over the past year with multiple groundbreaking events in Henrico, Ashland, Hanover, and Richmond. Each event offered a chance to reflect on the accomplishments of the trail’s emphatic regional support, while also providing a glimpse of the transformational 43-mile project’s future development. The groundbreaking at Bryan Park was especially significant, as it marked the beginning of construction in over half of the seven partner localities. Sports Backers celebrated the completion of the Henrico County’s Spring Park segment, adjacent to our future trailside headquarters on Lakeside Avenue.
In addition to building our home directly on the Fall Line, the new headquarters will serve as an ‘Active Living Hub’. It will feature a new 750-square-foot multi-purpose fitness and training room, a community meeting space, outdoor areas for programming, and office space for staff. Sports Backers is currently engaged in a $1.3 million fundraising campaign to make this facility a reality, further advancing their mission to make active living accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Sports Backers, through our Bike Walk RVA program, has worked to build this trail concept into reality for five years, collaborating with our region’s officials, staff, and advocates. Your support provides Bike Walk RVA the ability to continue organizing community volunteers and coordinating among all seven jurisdictions to plan and build a comfortable and connected network for biking and walking in the greater Richmond region. Join our Fall Line Trailblazer today and support the Bike Walk RVA program in continuing the momentum.
