Event Description
The Big Dig of Northern Virginia, presented by Van Metre, is a one-of-a-kind, family-friendly event where kids (and kids at heart!) can climb into the driver’s seat and experience the thrill of operating heavy machinery—like excavators, scissor lifts, and more—under the guidance of trained construction professionals.
Since launching in 2021, Big Dig NOVA has raised over $621,000 in the fight against pediatric cancer, becoming a beloved community tradition with a powerful mission. We are proud to partner exclusively with Inova Children’s Hospital to support children and families in Northern Virginia facing a pediatric cancer diagnosis. Proceeds from the event will fund vital cancer care initiatives at Inova Children’s.

Parking:
Free event parking is available at the Ashburn Recreation Center, located at 21105 Coopers Hawk Drive, Ashburn, VA 20148.
A designated area of the parking lot has been reserved for Big Dig attendees, and a complimentary shuttle will run continuously between the parking area and the event entrance throughout the day.
