Audition Information
TUESDAY, MAY 6, & THURSDAY, MAY 8, 6:30 PM TO 8:30 PM
Charles Schulz’s beloved comic comes to life in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. In this unique musical, we see the Peanuts characters highlighted in various vignettes based on the comic strip with added songs and dance! Whether you’re keen to fly with the Red Baron or just doing your best to find “Happiness,” You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a crowd-pleasing classic suitable for all ages. We’re especially thrilled to present it for the 75th anniversary of Peanuts!
All of the main characters, while portraying children, will be played by adults.
Please note that major changes to appearance will not be asked to match the iconic Characters. For example, the actor playing Charlie Brown does not need to be bald and will not be asked to shave his head. The show is about imagination, not looking exactly like the cartoons.
When casting the main characters, strong singing and vocal abilities will be primarily focused on.

Character Breakdown
Charlie Brown
Male - Lead - Baritone
The optimistic, yet often self-deprecating main character. Even at only 5 years old, he is a loveable underdog who carries the weight of the world in his shoulders. Despite his overwhelming insecurity, he is determined to try his best against all odds. Strong singing and acting skills.
Bari-tenor who can speak/sing fast and memorize well
Vocal Range (B-flat2 to F4.)
Lucy Van Pelt
Female - Lead - Mezzo-Soprano
A bossy, self-important girl who often bullies others, especially Charlie Brown and Linus, in a misguided attempt to help. Despite her tough exterior, she has moments of compassion, vulnerability, and insight.
Strong vocal and acting skills. While there are moments where Lucy does sing “flat” in the show, please do not attempt to showcase this in auditions.
Vocal Range (G3-F5)
Sally Brown
Female - Soprano - Supporting
The highly articulate, charismatic, and very argumentative younger sister to Charlie Brown. Despite being only 3 years old, Sally is noticeably intelligent for her age, though she is emotionally volatile as many three year olds tend to be. When she’s not berating her teachers, jump ropes, and friends, she’s often found pining after Linus.
Strong singing and acting skills. Classical vocal training preferred but not required.
Vocal Range (B3 to A-flat5)
Snoopy
Male - Tenor - Supporting
Loveable and often over-dramatic, Snoopy is Charlie Brown's imaginative and lively pet beagle. Snoopy has a wild imagination, loves to daydream, and lives in his own fantasy world. He is sarcastic and playful, often jumping from a carefree demeanor into bursts of wild energy.
Strong comedic timing. For this role specifically, strong acting choices are more important than perfect singing techniques.
Schroeder
Male- Tenor - Supporting
This Beethoven-obsessed musical prodigy spends his days playing piano and dodging Lucy’s attempts to win his affection. He is passionate about the things that matter to him and indifferent to the rest, in stark contrast to Charlie Brown’s frequent self-doubt.
This role will be cast almost exclusively on vocal strength. Piano experience is not required.
Vocal Range (Bb2-Ab4)
Linus Van Pelt
Male- Supporting- Baritone
Intellectual and often unintentionally a known-it-all all, Linus takes on the world with the wisdom of a philosopher and a trusty blanket by his side. This often clashes with Lucy’s demanding attitude, but he never hesitates to have her back when she needs it.
Strong singing and acting skills. Dance experience preferred but not required. Linus will not have a lisp in this production. (
Vocal Range (Bb2-E4)
Depending on auditions, Schroeder and Linus may be open to being played by female actors. Snoopy can be played by any actor.
Please note that the original script only includes these 6 characters. They will be the only characters with their solo lines.
Ensemble (All ages)
The ensemble will consist of other recognizable characters and children from the comic strips, woodstocks, and even dancing blankets!
Please note that the ensemble does not have any individual lines of their own, and the script will not be altered. However, the ensemble is a place to show off your skills! Movement, dance, creativity, stage presence, and singing will all be heavily featured through the ensemble. The show will heavily center around creative blocking and movement on stage, so let us know of any special skills you have! Everyone will have their moment to shine
