Event Description
Join us on Saturday, November 29, 2025, for Longwood's official holiday kickoff! This magical evening is celebrated in two distinct parts—an exclusive, ticketed historic experience, followed by a free community celebration.
Part 1: The Exclusive Ticketed Historic Tour & Reception (4:00 PM)
Start your evening with an unforgettable experience! This exclusive, ticketed portion offers a rare chance to step inside six of Longwood's most beautiful historic buildings, all lovingly decorated for the holidays. Starting at 4:00 PM, your small tour group will be led on a delightful walking tour through these architectural treasures, getting an intimate look at the history and charm that define our city. Our guides will provide details on the history of each building and our community.
Following your tour, your ticket grants you access to our cozy, festive reception at the Longwood Historic Civic Center (135 W Church Ave) from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Warm up with delicious hot cocoa (courtesy of the Rotary Club) and hot apple cider (from Cottage Gift Shop), along with light snacks and desserts. This portion is strictly limited to 150 people across five tour groups to guarantee a high-quality, intimate experience for everyone. Check-in begins promptly at 3:45 PM at the Civic Center. Kids' tickets are free, but please still register them to hold a spot.
Part 2: Free Community Tree Lighting & Caroling (Starts 5:30 PM)
The celebration doesn't end with the tour! We warmly invite everyone—neighbors, friends, and the entire community—to join us for this free, inspiring finale.
At 5:30 PM, make your way to the city's enormous Christmas tree on Ronald Reagan Blvd (between Warren and Church Ave), for our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. This event, opening with a Christmas Blessing and Unity Prayer by Pastor Tarman of Sanlando United Methodist, is free and open to the public—no ticket required! After the blessing, we'll count down and light up the tree. Stay and sing popular holiday carols with us as we officially usher in the spirit of Christmas! Sanlando United Methodist Church will provide free songbooks.
