More Picnic Notes:
- We rented a bigger pavilion; however, it is still not large enough for the 200+ expected guests. We encourage you to bring folding chairs and blankets. There is plenty of grassy areas around the pavilion.
- Picnic premium giveaway will be first come, first serve. We are expected to run out, but are considering a second order for a fall event. So, if you don't get a premium on Sunday, you will have a second chance in the fall.
- Remember to grab a raffle ticket when you arrive. There will be random prizes. Look for Missy Burger!
- Overflow parking located at Cedar Lane Park: 5081 Cedar Lane. Use the pathway to walk to the EAST pavilion.

2026 marks the 50th anniversary of the Howard County Striders being a formal club. We're asking past and present members to come out and celebrate our club's history and running in Howard County. Please join us for a special annual picnic to celebrate our members, our current and former board members, our history, and all things that make the Striders a welcoming and supportive fitness community.
Picnic is open to members and non-members but we encourage you to join the club.
Since this is our 50th Anniversary, there are a few things you should take note of:
- Different location from previous years' picnic. We are at a larger pavilion called Cedar Lane Park EAST. See address below.
- Larger pavilion has more parking, bathrooms, playground, basketball courts and soccer fields. So, please bring your family!
- Food will be catered by local company: Farmhouse Greens.
- Agenda includes our yearly business meeting and annual awards.
- Recognition by Howard County Council and Howard County Executive's Office. Plus attendance by House Delegate Dr. Wu and representatives from the Columbia Association.
- 50th anniversary giveaway.
- BIG surprise announcement. Hear it first at the picnic!
Please select the number of tickets equal to your expected attendance. Our ticket counts are for food, drink and anniversary giveway planning purposes! There is no cost to attendance, but if you would like to donate specifically towards the anniversary events costs, we welcome your additional support. Thank You!
