Huntington Area Recreational Trails Association (HARTA) and the Huntington County Humane Society are hosting their Annual Huntington Tails & Trails. The event will be held Saturday, October 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. rain or shine at Crestview Middle School in Huntington, Indiana. 

This is a fun and healthy event for the whole family to create awareness of the Huntington County trail system and to improve the lives of all animals in Huntington County. HARTA is dedicated to designing, developing, constructing, and maintaining Huntington area's multi-use public trails and greenways, and engaging in funding and fundraising. Huntington Co. Humane Society is dedicated to protecting and providing shelter for animals and encouraging the humane treatment of animals through advocacy and education. Our goal for the event is to raise $10,000. Proceeds from event registrations and sponsors more trail amenities, trail signage, lifesaving medical care, spays, and neuters for the shelter animals. 
 Registration for the 5K & Doggie 3K is $20 a person, $15 per student (early bird pricing available)

There will also be food trucks, market vendors, dog demonstrations, a costume contest, a trunk and treat, and more.

Guidelines & Regulations 2024

The Huntington Tails & Trails Festival is dedicated to serving its vendors and customers by providing a fun, convenient marketplace. The Market is committed to the success of its vendors and will strive to provide value-added services to its vendors. To this end, the Market requests all our vendors become familiar with the Guidelines and Regulations of the Huntington Tails & Trails Festival. Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the Event Director. 

Setup: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM

Vendor Prices: 

➢ Vendors pay $30 for each spot and keep all proceeds from their sales.

Vendors: 

➢ Vendors will set up their operation from 9:00 am to 10:30 a.m. in their designated spots and be ready to sell their products no later than 10:35 a.m. All vendors must stay for the entire duration of the festival. VENDORS need to bring their tents, tables, trolleys, and chairs.

Vendor Space: 

Electricity is NOT available, self-contained. Only a quiet generator IE: Honda Inverter or RV Style generator will be permitted. Quiet enough for people to easily place orders. Each Space is 10'x10' or 1 food truck

➢ Vehicles are permitted within the Market space before 10:00 a.m. for unloading and setup. By 10:30 a.m. all vehicles must be within the boundaries of the vendor’s space or moved out of the Market area. No vehicle may enter or exit the festival during operating hours. 

➢ Vendors are provided an empty stall space on a first-come first-served basis. Vendors are responsible for bringing their items for set-up including, but not limited to tables, chairs, tents, necessary weights, signage, cash boxes, etc. Tents must be properly weighted. 

➢ Please be courteous to your neighbors! With this in mind, sandwich boards or signage in the aisles are permitted and encouraged!  

Labeling for Baked Goods: 

➢ Name and address of the producer of the food. 

➢ Common or usual name of the food product. 

➢ Ingredients of the food product in descending order by weight. 

➢ Weight and volume of the food product. 

➢ The date on which the food product was processed. 

➢ The following statement in at least 10-point type: “This product is home produced and the production area has not been inspected by the State Department of Health.” 

Requirements for Shell Eggs Sold at Farmers’ Markets 

➢ Dealer must be licensed by Egg board and present license upon request (see Market Master for application) 

➢ Eggs must be clean and sound shelled (cracked eggs removed) 

➢ Eggs must be held under refrigeration at an ambient temperature of no greater than 45 degrees Fahrenheit 

➢ Used egg cartons may be used only if relabeled with the name and address of the supplier of the eggs 

➢ Pack date and expiration date must appear on each carton. The expiration date is 30 days from the date of the pack. 

General Policies: 

➢ Definition of “Vendor” – Vendor shall be defined as the producer of goods sold and shall include spouse, siblings, children, parents, and employees of the applicant who assist in the cultivation of the same property or assist in the production of items available for sale. 

➢ It is the vendors’ responsibility to be familiar with the local, state, and federal regulations and permits that govern the products in which they sell. The notes and guidelines included in this document are included as a courtesy but do not take precedence over governmental policy. 

➢ Vendors must grow/make their products within a 150-mile radius of the market to be eligible to apply. This does not apply to pet-related vendors or groups. 

➢ The Festival is held rain or shine, and refunds are not given unless the festival is canceled before opening and at the determination of Festival management. The Market will close during a severe weather warning, or at the discretion of the Event Director. 

➢ Vendors are to collect and dispose of any trash within their vendor space area at the end of each market. The trash can be disposed of in a city trash container or taken away by the vendor.
