Once again, the skies over Muskogee will be glowing with an array of vibrant color as the Oklahoma Festival of Ballooning descends upon historic Hatbox Field August 25-27, 2023.  Festival-goers will experience luminous balloon glows both Friday and Saturday evening with a Balloon Glow and Firework Finale. Back by popular demand, tethered rides will be offered for those who want a few minutes in a floating balloon basket that is securely tied to the ground. 

A food truck and vendor midway, kids zone, helicopter rides, and an “Up, Up and Away" 5K run are all being offered as part of this year’s festival. Live music on stage at 7:30pm - Weston Horn & the Hush on Friday and King Cabbage Brass Band on Saturday.

Hot Air Balloon events are extremely weather sensitive.  The schedule for balloon flights, tethered rides, and balloon glow is subject to cancellation or changes due to winds or unfavorable weather conditions.  Follow the "Oklahoma Festival of Ballooning" Facebook page for videos and balloon event updates.  

RV GUESTS:  Balloon Teams will arrive on Thursday, August 24th and fly that evening for media flights.  This is a great day to arrive and offers an additional opportunity to experience the awe of seeing the Hot Air Balloons fly over Hatbox Field next to the RV strip.  Morning flights are scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 7am. The main event is Friday and Saturday 5pm-9pm. RV guests are provided the convenience and maximum opportunity to see the hot air balloons throughout the weekend. This is a great way to enjoy the Balloon Festival at Hatbox and we recommend the 3-night stay Thursday-Sunday!
