We are so excited to have you attend the Reading & Fitness Challenge presented by Evergy!

What: 

This event is centered around encouraging youth in the community to get active and excited about reading! Challenge your students (K-6th) to read 12 books and complete 12 hours of fitness activity by January 31! Winners are invited to the Reading & Fitness Challenge presented by Evergy celebration on Wednesday, March 4 or Thursday, March 5 during the morning session of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship at T-Mobile Center in Downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Classes, troops, teams, individuals – all are welcome to participate! NOTE: Transportation is NOT provided as part of this program.

How To Join:

• Review the Reading & Fitness Challenge presented by Evergy instructions.
• Submit the Reading & Fitness presented by Evergy registration form by Friday, December 12, 2025 to secure spots for your class, team, troop and/or student(s).
• Download the Reading Log & Fitness Log and distribute to students.
• Submit final participant form by Friday, February 13, 2026. (This will be sent to you after you register.) 
  • Please note: Only secure as many tickets as students you anticipate attending. DO NOT include teachers/chaperones in this count. 
• Mark your calendars for the Reading & Fitness Challenge presented by Evergy Celebration on Wednesday March 4 or Thursday March 5, 2026!

All Winners Receive: 

• Ticket to the morning session, Wednesday, March 4 or Thursday March 5, of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship (games tentatively set for 11 a.m. & 1:30 p.m.)
• Complimentary lunch
• Book
• Reading & Fitness Challenge presented by Evergy “Certificate of Achievement” bookmark
