Moraine State Park Regatta is thrilled to announce the addition of the co-ed Beach Volleyball Sand Tournament to its lineup of exciting events for 2023. Taking advantage of the park's sand court, this co-ed tournament promises to be a thrilling display of athleticism, skill, and teamwork. Whether you're a seasoned beach volleyball player or a passionate spectator, join us for a day of sun, fun, and intense competition on the shores of Lake Arthur in Butler County, PA.

Tournament Details:

Two skill levels are available: Recreational and Intermediate/Advanced. Please sign up according to your team's skill level to ensure proper bracketing and to have the most fun.

There are 2 sand courts available for play
Matches are single elimination with three sets per match
Games will be played to 21 points using rally scoring, with a cap at 25 points
2 female players must be on the court at all times
Teams can be made up of 6 people max or have a 4-person minimum
Teams will be assigned a specific game start time and opponent and will be notified prior to tournament day
The top teams from each skill level will advance to the playoffs, where single-elimination matches will determine the ultimate champions in each division
Awards will be given to the first-place teams

We kindly request that participants bring their own water for the volleyball event as water will not be provided. Food and drink vendors are on site, if players would like to purchase refreshments.

Skill Levels:

There are 2 skill levels available for sign-up: (1) Recreational and (2) Intermediate/Advanced. Please choose the skill level that best suits your team. Descriptions of skill levels are as follows:

Recreational: Players may have previous experience or may be new to the game. While this is a competitive play, the main goal at this level is to get out and have some fun. This is a great place to learn the game and begin to develop fundamental skills.

Intermediate/Advanced: Players at this level have previous experience on organized teams and may have played in some weekend tournaments as well as competitive leagues. Players display strong individual and team skills. Players may specialize in certain positions and teams may run plays and/or use strategic formations and are able to demonstrate them with a high degree of consistency.

Online Pre-Registration:

Pre-registration is required for all teams and must be completed online by July 31, 2023. An email will be sent to all team members following their registration detailing their time of play and other game day information.

Each team only needs one person to register through one account for all team members.

Entry Fee:

The cost per team is $35, is non-refundable, and can be paid at the time of online registration. Please make the payment during the pre-registration process to secure your team's participation. 

Tournament Rules:

Games are self-refereed, relying on the honor system. Sportsmanship and fair play are essential.

Promptness is crucial! Games must start at your team's given time. If your team fails to arrive on time and a substitute player cannot be found, your team will have to forfeit.

The tournament is limited to a total of 12 teams and is single elimination.
