Join us for a seed starting class with the legendary George Davis of Stone Bros. & Byrd, and leave with all the materials needed to get your spring garden going. The timing is perfect for transplanting in April after the last frost. The class includes a flat, inserts, seeds, soil mix, dome, and spray bottle plus your choice of a pint of beer* or glass of wine to enjoy during the class. George will share stories and knowledge from decades of farming in Durham.

Stone Brothers & Byrd was started in Durham in 1910. The reins of Stone Brothers & Byrd were transferred in 1976 to George Davis, a consummate “gentleman farmer” with a strong knowledge of horticulture and an uncanny ability to connect with customers. George Davis posts himself at the threshold of Stone Bros. & Byrd, his old-fashioned lawn-and-garden center near downtown, eager to meet the “dirt people.”

The class fee is $45 and includes take home seed starting materials plus a glass of beer/wine*   Class starts at 7 pm
