This will be the 6th year Somerville Fire Local 76 is participating in the Bfit challenge and I am excited to participate this year!
Since 2019, SFD has raised over $70k for their selected charities. This year they have selected to raise funds for On-Site Academy which is a mental health facility that supports first responders and their families. First responders never know what kind of calls a shift will bring. Some of those calls stick with them and replay over and over in their mind. On-Site helps first responders deal with the mental load that comes with the job.
