I’m helping plant seeds of hope in 2026 with Team CRCL.

I’m running the 2026 Crescent City Classic with Team CRCL because, as a Louisianan, I know how deeply our coast shapes who we are, our culture, our communities, and our future. Coastal land loss isn’t an abstract issue here; it’s something we live with every day. The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL) unites people in action to protect and restore our wetlands, and I’m proud to run in support of their work to build a thriving, sustainable coast for all.

This run is personal, too. I’m on the road to a better, healthier me, and this race is part of my larger goal to run a marathon as part of my 40 before 40 list. Training has reminded me that growth often comes from doing hard things, showing up, staying consistent, and choosing purpose over comfort.

That commitment to doing hard things is something I’ve carried for years. 12 days after this race will mark the 10th anniversary of the day I anonymously donated my left kidney to a total stranger. Since then, I’ve made it a point to take on meaningful challenges each year to raise awareness for living donation, inspired by the promise behind Because I Said I Would. This run is another way I’m honoring that promise, to myself and to causes bigger than me.

CRCL has planted millions of trees and grasses, recycled more than 16 million pounds of oyster shell to build living shorelines, and continues to educate and mobilize residents to protect what we stand to lose. They are actively defending our coast, and they need our help.
