Its been 5 years now since our beautiful son Andrew has become something more. Even with how much time has passed, his message of strength, courage and above all love still carries to this day. Unfortunately the only way to be reminded is to look back at the ones we lost along the way. But in Andrew case, most times you don’t have to look back. Just around. His spirit makes people come together, even more so into a group. Where it’s a mixture of so many who were a part of his journey, to the ones who had the pleasure of meeting him, also ones who know his story and even to the ones who have heard it. Together we become Team Andrew, believing in something bigger then ourselves.
We campaign for hope to the people who are in their own war, just like Andrew did with his rare genetic condition ( CDG type 1k ) even though he was probably aware of what the outcome would be. We also campaign for wealth, but not the one your thinking of. The wealth we believe is the more natural ones we have. Like being able to get out of bed, able to breathe in the air, able to see the changes in the sky from night to day, able to speak so everybody can hear, and so on. But most of all, we campaign for those who might not be able to do these things.
We know the yearly 5k we do has been on hold for a couple of years, it’s just because we use our hope and it brought us Andrews sister into the world. Her name is Leilani Andi Villegas, so his memory continues to carry on. Through this phase of our lives, the support we received made the firm foundation of what makes this team! Which is NEVER GIVE UP & NEVER FORGET!
Andrew can be anything if you need him. But just always remember Team.....He’s always in you.
