I’m running the Cambridge Half Marathon for the American Cancer Society because cancer has left its mark on people I love, and in doing so, it’s left a mark on me. I’ve witnessed the strength it takes to endure the unthinkable, and I’ve felt the quiet heartbreak of standing beside those carrying more than they ever should have to.
I’m not just running in memory—I’m running with hope. Hope that fewer families will have to endure the pain of watching someone they love go through cancer. Hope that even in the darkest moments, strength and light can still be found. Every mile is a reminder of why I run—and it’s love, resilience, and the people I carry with me that keep me moving forward.
I dedicate this run to Missy, Gary, and Joey. Their strength, their spirit, and the love they left behind are with me every mile. I run to honor them—to keep their names close and their memories alive. This is for them, and for everyone still holding on through the hardest days.
