Welcome our Ben's Run Hawaii 2021 fundraising page!
I'm proudly supporting Ben's Run, a charity that is fighting pediatric cancer. There are so many wonderful charities to support so why this one? Because Ben's Mom, Clare, has been my friend since High School and Tom, Anna and Clare have worked over the last 10 years to impact the lives of so many through this event. I'll be walking the 5K in honor of Ben and hope you can be with me in supporting Ben's Run. Please read The Impact below and see what a community coming together can do to change lives.

THE IMPACT: The run has been impacting cutting edge research in pediatric cancer over the last 10 years. This year you have the ability to impact the lives of children fighting cancer directly by allowing them access to clinical trials we are funding in immunotherapy. Not only will your donation help us reach our $1 million over 10 year goal and have our life-saving work be recognized through Ben's Run signage at Children’s National, but most importantly, your donation will expand access to the RESOLVE clinical trial to 10 new patients at high risk of relapse, and start the readily available protocol for 12 patients for whom bone marrow transplant isn’t an option. You can provide hope to these families!
The ability to fund new research has changed dramatically over the years. Young researchers can reliably get small government grants to get started, but the next level of funding requires a vast body of data and research. Philanthropy is the only way to bridge the gap so that these researchers have a shot at the real NIH funding that will actually bring new treatments to patients. Ben's Run is proud to be a real catalyst in gathering the body of data and research that in turn attracts even greater dollars to see these ideas through - your money actually multiplies exponentially as this critical research we fund gets picked up and funded by even larger grants. Together we can change treatments and provide new hope for children and their families battling cancer.

While we won't be in Maryland for Ben's Run, Leif and I with 8 of our friends and family will walk a 5 mile trail at Ka'ena Point, Oahu in memory of Ben. Please support this great cause.
