I am running this year's Crescent City Classic on behalf of the Junior League of New Orleans (JLNO), a 100-year-old plus organization with a legacy of service to the Greater New Orleans area. It has been at the forefront of training women, investing in programs, and creating projects that make a significant impact. Its current programs including the Diaper Bank, Woman Entrepreneur Fellowship, Scholarship among others demonstrate that JLNO continues to address the critical issues facing women and families. Through these projects and the 40,000 hours its members dedicate annually, JLNO equips women to be more effective volunteers and leaders, recognizes and addresses community needs, and implements lasting change.
I am running for JLNO because they believe that every woman in the Greater New Orleans area should have the opportunity to live a healthy, happy, and successful life. JLNO’s current community outreach provides direct service, educates the community, and advocates for issues that affect women. Please join me in advancing the wellbeing of women through JLNO’s innovative initiatives.
Why This Race Means So Much to Me
The Crescent City Classic is my favorite race. I’ve been running it since I was a kid with my grandmother, Nana. She is Junior League sustainer and a huge reason I joined. I grew up hearing her stories about the incredible projects they led and the lifelong friendships she built through the League.
This past League year, I had the honor of serving as a Vice-Chair for TOUCH-A-TRUCK®, and it truly solidified how meaningful this community is. I feel like I’ve finally built that same connection Nana had always described a community surrounded by driven, compassionate women who are committed to making Greater New Orleans better.
This is my sixth year running for charity, and every year reminds me why I love this race and the community!
My Goal
This year, I’m aiming to raise $3,000 — the most I’ve ever raised.
