The Father's Day 5K and New for 2025: The 10K Race

This annual event benefits the Portage High School Boys Cross Country Team. Race the Region is proud to partner with a local school renowned for its long-standing tradition of excellence in cross country within the State of Indiana. Proceeds from the event will help provide the team with the essential resources they need for a successful and productive season.

Kick Off Father’s Day with a Fun-Filled Run!

Race the Region invites everyone to celebrate Father’s Day with a 5K Run/Walk or a 10K Run on the beautifully shaded Duneland Prairie Trail. This urban trail offers a flat, fast course, perfect for runners and walkers of all levels.

Enjoy the natural beauty of the trail as you race under a canopy of trees, making it a scenic and refreshing way to start your special day. Whether you're racing for a personal best or simply enjoying the outdoors, this is the perfect Father's Day workout.

🎖 Finisher Perks:
All participants will receive a finisher's medal and have the option to snag a unique race shirt to commemorate the event.

Registration and Packet Pick Up

Online Registration: All participants are required to register online. Online registration will continue to be available until 7:25 a.m. on race day
- 10K Run Start - 7:30 AM
- 5K Run/Walk Start - 7:45 AM
  - Early Registration until 6/12/2025 - $30 with shirt, $25 without shirt - shirt and size guaranteed.
  - Registration - 6/13/2025 until 6/14/2025 - $35 with shirt, $30 without shirt - size not guaranteed.
  - Race Day - 6/15/2025 - $40 with shirt, $35 without shirt - shirt and size not guaranteed.
Pre-Race Packet Pick Up:
- Dates: Friday, June 13, 2025 - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. & Saturday, June 14, 2025 - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Location: Extra Mile Fitness Company, 3400 Calumet Ave, Valparaiso, Indiana 46383
Onsite Packet Pick Up on Race Day:
- Starts: 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 a.m.
- Location: Imagination Glen East Soccer Fields, Iron Horse Heritage Trail, Chesterton, IN 46304

Perks and Awards

Registration Perks:

Early Registration (by June2, 2025):** Ability to pick out a race shirt.
Late Registration:** Choose from available shirts or opt for no shirt.
5K Timed Run/Walk Participants:** Receive a finisher's medal.

Event Features:

Timing mats at the Starting Line and Chip Timing for Finish Results.
Live results via text and email messaging.
Directional signs at all turns.
No processing fee for online signup.
Finisher photo and video.

Custom awards
Top Overall: Male and Female.
Top Masters: Male and Female.
Top 3 in Age Groups:
- 10 & under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69,70-74, 75 and up

Award Collection:

Awards can be claimed within 14 days following the event at The Extra Mile Fitness Co., 3400 Calumet, Valparaiso, IN 46383.
Unclaimed awards after 14 days will be donated or recycled.
Race shirts not picked up on or before race day are not guaranteed.

**Take note**: The 10K is a competitive run with a time limit of 2 Hours. If you are unable to complete the 10K in 2 Hours, Race the Region is asking you to register for the 5K run/walk.
