- Ages for the series scoring will be calculated using the participants age on June 30th. (i.e. if you turn 30 on July 15th, and are 29 on June 30th, you will compete in the 25-29 age group for the series). Age group awards for individual race awards will be scored as usual using the participant's age on race day.
- Age Groups: 10 and under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over
Note:
Series points will be awarded as detailed in the age groups listed above and are independent of the age groups and awards presented by each individual race. For example, even though a Master's winner may be removed from his/her age group for the purpose of individual race awards, they will remain in their age group for series scoring and will still collect the first place series points for their age group.

It brings people together—whether they're seasoned athletes, casual participants, or families looking for a fun activity—by offering opportunities to connect, achieve fitness milestones, and create lasting memories. Race the Region: Giving Back to Our Community
At Race the Region, we believe in making a difference beyond the finish line. Each year, a portion of the proceeds from our events is dedicated to supporting local high school cross country programs, nonprofit organizations, and other community-focused initiatives.
In 2024, we are proud to have donated over $10,000 to causes that matter most to our region. These contributions reflect our commitment to empowering youth, strengthening community bonds, and promoting a culture of giving.
Thank you to our participants, sponsors, and volunteers who make this possible. Together, we’re racing toward a brighter future for everyone in our community!
F.A.Q.
Question: I participated in the first couple of races, but was not signed up for the series at the time. Can I sign up now and have those races count?
Answer: Yes!
Question: Are the race courses closed or open?
Answer: While all of our race courses are clearly marked and staffed with volunteers, and we try to have as much of the race courses closed to traffic, unfortunately we cannot always completely close every race course. Please refer to each individual race to see if the course will be completely closed.
Question: Where can I pick up my awards if I miss the awards ceremony?
Answer: All awards will be available for pick up from the Extra Mile Fitness Company, 3400 Calumet Ave, Valparaiso, Indiana 46383 for 30 days after the event. All up picked up awards after 30 days will be donated.
