Clearwater's Paddle for Our Hudson

I am Paddling for Our Hudson to support Hudson River Sloop Clearwater's  education and environmental programs and to assure that the Sloop keeps sailing!!!

For more than 50 years Clearwater has fought for a clean and healthy Hudson River. More than 500,000 people have come aboard the sloop for hands-on learning experiences and our traditional 'Moment of Silence' to connect with and appreciate one of America's great rivers. Although much work has been done since the launch of the sloop in 1969 we are still challenged with ongoing threats that require the steadfast efforts of our staff and crew to assure a better Hudson River for the future! The youth we teach have, and will be, the environmental leaders of tomorrow. Our environmental action rallies thousands of voices to be heard on the critical issues and pressure results. We know we all have benefited from the improvements to our watersheds - no one is at a loss. The work MUST continue! Beyond our programs the sailing sloop symbolizes the successes of the environmental movement to millions of people who spy her each year. The sloop is a necessary part of the Hudson Valley fabric and as America's Environmental Flagship she needs to serve our communities for decades to come. We are in trying times and really need your help this year!

Challenge me to get my boat out on the water!  I hope to paddle Henderson Lake on the headwaters of the Hudson high in the Adirondacks, Liberty State Park where the Hudson flows into the Upper Bay, and many places in between.
