I’m running this 5K (and fundraising) because like most people, I’ve had loved ones pass away from cancer. The reason I want to help so much now is because my grandpa is being treated for cancer right here in NELA. Since I found out, he doesn’t look the same and he doesn’t have any of the energy he used to. It feels like he’s always on his way to get a treatment or he just had one and is feeling really tired and yucky. He just had another test this week and they say the treatment is “doing wonders”. The cancer looks like it is shrinking which is awesome! He may be able to stop taking the medicine that makes him so sick if it goes away. If he gets better, we may be able to go fishing again or he can teach me to build some more stuff in the shop. My mom says he is one of the lucky ones because he has insurance to help with the price of this medicine- it’s very expensive. I want to raise money to help people pay for this expensive medicine that don’t have help. Please help me raise money to help them out!
Thank you for your support! The current and future needs of Louisiana cancer patients is great, and the LCF assists with meeting those needs in northeast Louisiana.
