Join ThriveOn for the 3rd annual Franklin County 5k & ThriveOn challenge! We’re excited to get back to an in-person event but also saw how successful last year’s virtual event was. So this year we will be offering the option to choose between participating in the 5k in-person or virtually! All Franklin County Cooperative employees and dependents (spouses/domestic partners and children) are welcome to participate in the run/walk whether you are a competitive runner, a casual jogger, or just want to get outside to enjoy a nice walk around your neighborhood.
In-Person Race: This event will take place on Sunday, October 10th, 2021 at Wolfe Park (105 Park Dr. Columbus, OH 43209).
Virtual Race: The race opens on Sunday, October 10th, and runs through Wednesday, October 20th, 2021. You can complete the 5k at any time during that window. Do it solo, or with your family – around your neighborhood or favorite running path. It’s up to you! Click here and follow the instructions to submit your race results by October 20th.
Both events are for Cooperative employees and dependents. It is not open to the public. There is no fee to participate in this year’s 5k, simply register by clicking the 'Sign Up' button for the event you wish to register for. The 5k events are for eligible participants aged 9 and older. The Kids Race is recommended for eligible children aged 8 and under.
Employees and spouses/domestic partners are eligible to receive a $50 Well-Being Activity incentive through ThriveOn’s Wellness Your Way program by participating in the 5k. To earn your incentive you must participate in person on race day or submit your results for the virtual race. Reminder, maximum of 4 well-being activities per person.
Registration is based on the honor system. If you are unsure if you can participate, please do not register until which time you are sure.
Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Participation with pets, bicycles, scooters, or hoverboards is prohibited.
The in-person race is subject to BOC, local and federal policies, and guidance related to COVID-19. Any changes to the event (i.e. switch to 100% virtual, mask requirements, etc.) will be communicated promptly via email to the address used during registration.
All participants eligible for swag (in-person and virtual) will need to pick up their packets in person. Early packet pickup will be held at Columbus Running Company’s Dublin location (6465 Perimeter Dr Dublin 43016) on Friday, October 8 (10a-8p) and Saturday, October 9 (10a-6p). Those participating in the in-person race can also pick up their packets at the event on race day.
There is parking at Wolfe Park, across Broad St at St Charles Preparatory School, and a bit south at Academy Park.
ThriveOn will be partnering with OhioHealth to provide free flu vaccines after the race. All Franklin County Cooperative employees, spouses/domestic partners, and dependent children 16+ (with guardian present) are eligible to receive a free flu vaccine. No appointment is required.
Agency challenge: The agency with the highest percentage participation (based on participants who show up on race day or log their virtual results) will be named this year’s agency champion and will receive the ThriveOn Challenge Cup (and bragging rights for the year)! Awards will be given for small, medium, and large agencies.
