Description
Get Ready to Run RETRO with GO FAR this fall!
The Triad GO FAR Community 5K & Fun Run Presented by Novant Health is a race event like no other, designed especially for children and families, to celebrate health and wellness in our local communities. Children from more than 40 Triad schools and clubs train for eight weeks to achieve the ultimate goal of completing this culminating 5K event. Throughout their training, children learn about positive character traits, the goal-setting process, and how to make healthy choices that will last a lifetime.

Registration Fees
GO FAR 5K (Club Participants)
Early Bird Registration Fee: $25 (Through Oct. 4)
Online Registration Fee: $30 (Oct. 5 - Nov. 5)
Late Registration Fee: $35 (Nov. 6 - 9)
(Late registration will close at 8:00 am on race day. We cannot accept new registrations after that time.)
FUN RUN
Online Registration Fee: $15 (Through Oct. 4)
Late Registration Fee: $20 (Oct. 5 - Nov. 9)
(Late registration for the Fun Run will close at 8 AM on race day. We cannot accept new registrations after that time.)
GO FAR 5K (Community Runners)
Early Bird Registration Fee: $30 (Through Oct. 4)
Online Registration Fee: $35 (Oct. 5 - Nov. 5)
Late Registration Fee: $40 (Nov. 6 - 9)
(Late registration will close at 8:00 AM on race day. We cannot accept new registrations after that time.)
NOTES:
- All runners must register in advance and wear assigned bibs during the race. Parents of GO FAR club participants who want to join children on race day must register online. Any runner not wearing a bib will be asked to exit the race course.
- A $2.50 processing fee is included in the registration fees listed above.
- T-shirt sizes are guaranteed only for runners who register before October 4.
- Late registration is available online from Nov. 6 - 9 and onsite from Nov. 9 until 8:00 AM on race day.
Registration Policies
Registration Fees are Non-Refundable.
Once we receive and accept your registration, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate. Before November 5, you may transfer your race registration to another runner. On and after November 5, registrations are non-transferable and non-refundable. No exceptions.
Registration Deadlines:
- $5 Early Bird Discount available until October 4.
- T-shirt sizes are guaranteed only to runners registered before October 4.
- Race transfers and upgrades are available until November 5.
- Space permitting, late registrations will be accepted in person at packet pick-up locations.
- Late registrations will be accepted until 8:00 am on race day. We cannot accept new registrations after that time.
Payment Method:
Credit card payment is required for all online registrations. Some GO FAR schools accept payment by check with paper registration. Please check with your GO FAR coach for information.
Race Changes:
Switching from the One-Mile Fun Run to the GO FAR 5K - Online Upgrade fee is $15 before November 5. After November 5, race upgrades are no longer available. Upgrade fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions. To make last-minute race changes (after Nov 5), simply follow regular race registration and pay the full fee; differences in last-minute registration fees are non-refundable.
Switching from the GO FAR 5K to One-Mile Fun Run - If you would like to switch from the 5K to One-Mile Fun Run, you do not need to make any changes. The difference in registration fees is non-refundable. Simply show up to the Fun Run start line on race morning.
Event Policies
The majority of our runners are children. The safety of our young runners is top priority.
- No drones are allowed.
- Strollers are welcome but must line up at the back of the final wave to avoid congestion at the start line.
- No bikes, roller blades or skateboards
- For safety purposes, only service animals are allowed at our events. A service animal is a working animal, not a pet. No pets permitted on the course or within the event area.
- All runners (including parents and running buddies) must register in advance and wear assigned bib during the race. Any runner not wearing a bib will be asked to exit the race course.

** Be sure to arrive early! Traffic will be heavy. And roads will be blocked for race route from 7:45 until 10:30 am. **
ALTERNATE PARKING:
It is likely that Primary lots will fill between 8:00-8:25 am. After this time, please go directly to Overflow Parking options. Overflow lots are available both east and west of the event site:
- Near the Caracole Building, 349 East Broad Avenue
- Behind the Forbidden City Museum, 309 East Green Drive
- The Buyers Lot, 310 East Green Drive
- The High Point Parking Plaza, accessible at 120 West Commerce Avenue and 119 West High Avenue
- The Pit, 117 West High Avenue
- Limited street parking is available along Main Street
Note: DO NOT park in lots at the Post Office, Red Lion Hotel, or any local businesses that are not included on the GO FAR event parking map. You will be ticketed.

Coaches' Lot and Wave Assignment
Each GO FAR team was assigned to a Wave! The waves correspond to the team area that each team will meet in on Race Morning! If you need to know which wave your team will be starting in/which area to meet in, check out the Wave Assignment and Coaches' Lot/Team Area Map!
Community Runners will be invited to run in Wave 1! We will meet at the starting line before the race!
WAVES WILL BE POSTED 3 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE RACE!
