Hunter and I knew that welcoming a child into our family would be hard and expensive, but we never imagined it would take 4 years and a small fortune. The medical stress aside, it felt like the odds were really stacked against us. Incredibly, in 2021 we received a substantial grant from the Chicago Coalition for Family Building (specifically from the JUF Path to Parenthood program). This gift made it possible for us to continue on our journey, and ultimately, to welcome sweet Reuben into the world. Nobody should have to start their family by incurring such massive financial strain. It is my honor to raise money to help offset the expenses for other families who remain on this challenging path.
One in six couples struggle to conceive for reasons ranging from infertility, failure or absence of reproductive organs, to diseases like cancer. The Chicago Coalition for Family Building was founded in 2013 on the belief that everyone who wants to build a family deserves the chance. Since 2013, they have gifted over $2.1 million dollars in reproductive services and grants to those seeking infertility treatments, and have welcomed 120 babies into the world!
Join me in supporting The Chicago Coalition for Family Building, and give the gift of hope to other families like mine!
