A year ago, our world changed forever when our daughter, Zoe, was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia - a very rare liver disease that only affects 1 in 12,000 children in the US.

If you've met Zoe, you've seen her contagious smile. What you may not see are the battles she's fought behind that smile.

She's faced multiple surgeries, months of hospital stays, countless pokes, severe life-threatening moments, and challenges no child should ever have to endure. Yet she continues to remind us every day that joy can exist even in the hardest seasons.

Zoe is currently on the transplant list for a Mult visceral transplant, and every day we are trusting God's plan and cherishing every moment together. This fundraiser is our family's way of paying it forward to other children like Zoe and their families who are walking down this difficult road. 

This fundraiser and 5k is a celebration of Zoe's strength, a thank you to the amazing team who has cared for her, and a way to help other children beginning this same journey.

Every dollar raised will support the children receiving care at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital and help with resources to support these families during some of their darkest days. We have been overwhelmed by the love, prayers, and generosity we've received from family, friends, and complete strangers. During some of our darkest days, people showed up for us in ways we'll never be able to fully express. That kindness reminds us that no family should have to walk through this journey alone. Now, we want to be able to provide that same hope to other families.
