All proceeds go directly to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, one of the most highly regarded cancer foundations in the world. Multiple Myeloma is the second most common form of blood cancer with one of the lowest five-year relative survival rates of all cancers. But while there is no cure, great progress is being made due to the work of the MMRF! By participating in this race, you are helping to find a cure!
The race directors (Katie and Sean) have a special connection to this type of cancer. Katie's mom is battling Multiple Myeloma, and they are attempting to raise $10,000 for the MMRF as they tackle Ironman Lake Placid this year.
