Green Lake Road Race / Covid-19
Register on-line ONLY
During the on-line registration process you will be asked to select a time for the start of your race. Start times will range from 5:30am-7:00am.
Packets will be handed out on July 4th at 9am-10am. Packets must be picked up at that time. Social distancing will be marked for the safety of the runners and volunteers. For out of the area (50+ miles) or out of state, please call 320-894-5882 arrange packet pick-up. NO packets can be picked up on race day.
Show up at the starting line for the race. The start location will be by Mel’s sport shop and the fishing access. No need to check-in by Zorbaz this year.
You should have your bib number attached on the front of your shirt just above the waist to get the best read-rate. Bibs located anywhere else will have a lower read-rate. Bib numbers need to be visible when you cross the finish line.
Find your group near the starting line. Example: 6:45 start time runners will look for a sign stating 6:45. Collect near the sign being cautious of social distancing. (6FT) An volunteer will check bibs numbers prior to your start time. You will following the volunteer to the start line and be sent off at your designated time.
Plan to be at the starting line ten minutes ahead of your start time. Please limit the time you are at the event prior to the race or after. A disposable mask will be provided in your packet. You are encouraged to wear the mask up until the start time. A trash can will be available at the start to dispose of your mask.
For your safety we encourage you to bring your own liquids for the race.
Water stops will be self-serve. Water stop locations: 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 mile marks. Bottles will be available for pickup at each stop (water only). Trash cans will be spaced along the course. Please DO NOT drop bottles on the course. Please carry the bottle to the near trash or next water stop.
Two utility vehicles will be patrolling the course. Extra water will be available on the carts.
Upon finishing the race, prepackaged refreshments will be available for each runner.
Times will be available on-line at www.pickleevents.com . The award winners will be posted on-line as well. Awards will be mailed out on 7/10/20.
Awards will be sent out via USPS. No awards presentation for 2020.
Special instructions for the relays:
Each relay packet will contain bib numbers for each runner in your group. No exchanging of bibs out on the course. VERY IMPORTANT! Your first runner should be wearing the bib with RED numbers, marked STARTER and the last runner should be wearing the bib marked FINISHER as those will be the only ones with a timing chip attached to the back.
Bus service will be discontinued for 2020. Please plan your return trip to the finish or home.
Relay spots will be at the same locations as 2019. Restrooms and water available at each exchange point.
2 person Relay exchange location: 6 mile mark
4 person Relay exchange locations: 3.25 mile, 6 mile mark, 9 mile mark
If you register as a virtual runner, you must complete your 12-mile run and email your finishing time to firstname.lastname@example.org by July 15th, 2020 in order to receive your finisher's shirt. This will be mailed to you at the address you provide during registration. Virtual run is for individuals only, not relay teams. Virtual runner times will not be included in the race results.
All pre-registered runners competing in the race will receive a t-shirt. Runners pre-registered by June 26th will be guaranteed their shirt size.
Men: 1-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 plus
Women: 1-9,10-14, 15-19, 2 0-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and 60-64, 65-69 and 70 plus
Family: Average time for 2 runners of the same family (A. Husband-Wife | B. Parent-Child | C. Brothers and/or Sisters)
Relay Teams: 2-person, 4-person. No breakdown by gender or age.
What Bib do we wear?
Each relay packet will contain bib numbers for each runner in your group. Your team's bib numbers will all be the same number. For 2020 only, your first runner should be wearing the bib with RED numbers, marked STARTER and the last runner should be wearing the bib marked FINISHER as those will be the only bibs with a timing chip attached to the back. For 4-Person Relays the runners doing the second and third legs, would wear the bibs with no timing tag on the back and no words on the front.
How do we get to the transition areas?
Due to Covid-19 bus services will not be available. Plan to have a family member pick you up or drop a vehicle near the transition area prior to the race.
How do we get back to the finish?
A runner must provide his/her own transportation to and from the transition area.
Where are the transition areas?
Transition areas are located at 3.5, 6 and 9 mile points. Look for the sighs and volunteers.
What do we do in the transition area?
The runner will entering the transition area and the next runner will take off. No changing of the bib number for 2020. Each relay runner will be given a separate bib number. Very important.....The final runner in each relay team MUST be wearing the bib number marked FINISHER.
