The Genesis Battlegreen Run is back for its 30th year!
Lexington History Museums and the Lexington Minute Men share a passion and mission to bring Lexington's history to life! Our signature collaboration  is the annual reenactment of Paul Revere’s arrival at the Hancock-Clarke House in 1775, Paul Revere's Ride.  The event, free to the public, has become known as the ‘first act’ in, or kick-off for, the Town’s Patriots’ Day celebrations. This past April, when we celebrated the 250th anniversary of the first shot of the American Revolution, the crowd that attended the event was approximately 6,000 people, or six times the usual crowd size - and we anticipate that next year, the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, may see another record crowd as more people become aware of America250 celebrations.
In a nod to Revere and Dawes, our team of "History Hoofers" hopes to trot out a strong team and raise funds to defray the costs of the production. You can join us on Sunday, November 2 to walk or run, donate to our team, or both. And of course, come and see the 'Midnight Ride' (a bit earlier for convenience) at the Hancock-Clarke House!
The Battlegreen Run is celebrated for its spirit and the incredible fundraising achieved by participants; last year almost $160,000 was raised for local nonprofits. The History Hoofers will receive all of your donations, and each team will also get a share of the overall proceeds. A win-win for both organizations and for all the visitors coming to see our reenactment.
Thank you for your support!
