Pedal the Cause

Last year - a week after we started our 8th grade year my friend Adam was diagnosed with leukemia.  He went from a healthy 8th grader playing baseball one week to sick and fighting for his life the next week.  It was unbelievable watching everything he had to go through- bone marrow biospies, chemotherapy, blood transfusions, so many medicines, and so many sticks, scans and other tests.  He was so sick.  When he was a few weeks he - he started to lose his hair.  Our group of friends didn't want him to go through any of this alone and we went up to the hospital after school one day and had our heads shaved together with Adam.   Each day he went through a new challenge.  He missed pretty much all of our 8th grade year going through intense treatment. We were in touch with him but it was hard watching him go through that and not being able to do much to help him.   He is still going through treatment- a year later and still has another year or two left.  I am riding in Adam's honor- raising money for research to find a cure so that no one else has to go though what Adam has gone through.   Please donate if you can- no amount is too small.  I'll be honored to be riding for him on Sunday September 21st.
