Thanks for Your Support!

I am proudly supporting Semper Fi & America's Fund as a community athlete for the 126th Boston Marathon Semper Fi & America's Fund Team.
I am an Army veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and served as an Infantry Platoon Leader assigned to Det 2, 3-172 IN (MTN).  It was the honor of my lifetime to serve aside those great soldiers everyday.  In them, I saw the best of mankind and a dedication to each other in the worst of situations that would make every American proud.  After 12 months we all came home in May 2006 to take our places back in society.
Like many of my fellow veterans coming home we had our issues to face.  Those first few months I personally found solace in the stories of our wounded warriors and the battles they had been going through everyday since they returned home. Their dedication to never giving up helped me get out of my own challenges.  Hearing their many stories of determination, dedication, and willingness to never quit helped me face my own issues and I never thought I would be able to repay the debt I owe them.
Six years later, a good friend asked me if I wanted to road march the Boston Marathon in remembrance of SSG Christopher Potts, a RI Army National Guard Soldier from the 1-103 Field Artillery killed in Taji, Iraq in 2004. Completing that March in his remembrance was truly a great experience and one I will never forget.
All the support I received from my family, friends, and fellow veterans has led me to this next chapter......of everything you have read above I hope you focus on what is below this sentence more than anything....
In 2003 as the war in Iraq began and wounded Soldiers arrived back home to the United States, a band of volunteer wives and mothers of Marines were there to welcome the planes as they landed and assisted the families of those first casualties as much as they could.  It started small and grew into one of the top charities that help our servicemen and women when they come home.
Semper Fi & America's Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is one of America's highest rated charities, dedicated to providing urgently needed resources and support for combat wounded, critically ill and catastrophically injured members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.
Semper Fi & America's Fund works to ensure no one is left behind. They apply your donations to comprehensive, proven programs that deliver immediate and long-lasting impact, ensuring service members have the resources they need during their recovery and throughout transition back to their communities.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting me on this journey to complete a lifelong dream of mine. Most importantly, thank you for the continued support of the great heroes of our country who deserve the very best for the rest of their lives! Cheers.  God Bless America! Rangers Lead the Way!
With Gratitude,
Jeffrey Ahern
