I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support patients at Craig Hospital through participating in Pedal 4 Possible: At the Raceway on October 14th.
Two years ago in May, I was so excited that I had bought a new road bike. Two days later my brain started bleeding requiring surgery. I came out of surgery with all the signs and symptoms of a stroke. I was unable to eat, stand, walk, read, or move any of the right side of my body. It has been a long road, but I continue to make steady gains.
Craig Hospital is one of the best rehab hospitals in the world. People come from all over the world to have the best chance of recovery possible. The reality is that not many places offer the level of services that Craig provides. It is actually because of the donations received that Craig is able to offer patients so many resources and hope. In addition, they do research. Today we have only just begun to fully understand the body, especially the brain. This is why it is important to me to raise money to support Craig.
