Hello Friends, Family and Business Sponsors!

 I HAVE SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL AND DIFFERENT PLANNED FOR THIS YEAR'S RACE!!  It will be an effort to truly bring to the Chicago River Swim the real reason we are fighting this disease, the very people who suffer from ALS.

In the hopes of bringing the ALS community together to be an integral part of the Chicago River Swim, I will be swimming the whole race while pulling behind me in a raft my friend, Jeff Birkel, who has had ALS for three years.  

I have created a challenge for myself, Jeff, the ALS support community and YOU!! to raise a vitally needed $42,000 for new cutting edge ALS research at Northwestern.
