Pedal the Cause

Cancer has touched so many of our lives — our family members, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. That’s why I’m participating in Pedal the Cause again this year. As my team name "Powered By Hope" suggests, Pedal the Cause IS hope in action. Hope for better treatments, hope for more survivors, and hope for a future where fewer families have to hear the words, “You have cancer."

Every year, I have known several people newly diagnosed with cancer. I want to jump in to help and support as we all do, but there is always an overwhelming feeling of helplessness.  SO as we all do, we bring food, we offer our shoulders to lean on, we help with child care, we go to treatments....and those are all incredibly important.  But still I have that feeling of helplessness.

The reason I ride in Pedal is to help deal with that feeling of helplessness.  It helps me believe I am DOING a small action to help with the "long game" against cancer as I truly believe that one day WE WILL HAVE A WORLD WITHOUT CANCER! It is hope in action.

I realize that there are MANY important causes that need your help that you can give your money to help support, but one way Pedal is unique is that 100% of every dollar donated funds innovative cancer research. Yes, 100%!! So if you are able to donate, please consider Pedal.
