Dear Friends and Family,
You can help me make a big impact for a national park close to my heart, and one of the favorite stops on Jack's great 2019 road trip. The sequoias are so impressive in person. Somehow they make our world seem large and our problems seem small. This is the one race I've been able to do this year -- but even so, I didn't want to post until I had hit the 10 mile mark.
I am participating in the virtual race Running Wild to Rae Lakes to raise money for Sequoia Parks Conservancy, the official partner to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The race will be held throughout the month of November, and I have a goal to walk 40 miles. Two months ago, I thought 40 miles in 31 day was a walk in the park (so to speak). One month ago as I was stuck in my house without an immune system, it seemed impossible. And this month, my dog Maggie is making sure we get it done -- slowly.
This organization ensures that Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks will be able to share their majestic mountains, awe inspiring giant sequoias, vast landscapes, precious wildlife, and more for generations to come.
Whether you can donate or not, thank you for cheering me on!
