Give Life NY 5K Run/Walk

On 12/23/2022 Oliver Coutrier saved many lives by becoming an organ donor.  We had spoken about this for many years during our 42+ years of marriage. It was identified on my driver's license but not on his and each time he had to renew his license I would say "Can you think about becoming on organ donor?"  I would explain how very emotional it can be for a family when a medical or hospital has to come and talk to you about Organ Donation when your loved one has died. Save them the "emotional" task of coming to speak to you about organ donation by signing your driver's license, that way everyone will understand your wishes.   I was shocked when they informed me that my husband had signed the donation section on his driver's license, when he died. When they approached me to tell me and that it was signed it in 2018, i was shocked and when I told the medical staff my story and my request to him for years ...  they  said it never went unheard because "he listened" ...  so when he died his organs, tissue, blood vessels and skin "lives on" and there was no need for "the Conversation".  He has given a second chance to so many people and I am thankful for his decision - "The second gift of life."  The first inaugural walk to honor donors and their recipients is schedule for October 6th, 2024, and I will walk proudly in his memory and honor on that day.  I am asking you to donate in his memory for a cause that he also believed in and ultimately gave a second chance to so many.
