Dear Friends and Supporters,
As I lace up my running shoes for the upcoming OC Marathon in May, I'm reminded of four beloved souls who are no longer with us: My beloved grandfather Kasem who's done so much for my family, my son Kaizen who was stillborn but still born, my best friend Gabriel who I consider a brother to me, and my close friend Jennifer who opened a new world for me. Their presence continues to inspire me, and I'm dedicating this run to their memory.
My grandfather was born in Thailand where he married my grandmother and had 2 kids; my mom and uncle. He bought a one-way ticket for him and his family to come to America to give them the best chance at life. He started his own automotive business in Los Angeles, CA which he later handed down to his partner after getting a stroke around the year 2000. After recovering the best he could, he continued to provide for all of us, taking care of me while my parents had to work, taking me places, picking me up at school, at golf practice, he did everything he could for us all. I stayed by his side until the very end on 4/27/24. Jennifer's passion for helping others led her to embark on various volunteer efforts, where she dedicated her time and energy to building communities in need, spreading love, positivity, and just doing the right thing. Gabriel, having served in the U.S. Army and with his compassionate heart, would have undoubtedly joined her in these efforts if given the chance. Fortunately, I had the honor of being a part of a youth soccer program with Gabriel before his passing. And though my son Kaizen's time with us was brief, his impact on our lives is everlasting.
In honor of Kasem, Kaizen, Gabriel, and Jennifer, I'm raising funds for Building Humanity, a charity that shares their commitment to providing assistance to communities around the world. From building safe homes to facilitating educational opportunities, Building Humanity works tirelessly to break the cycle of poverty and create lasting change.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need. With your support, we can continue Kasem, Kaizen, Gabriel, and Jennifer's legacies of compassion and service, one step at a time.
Thank you for joining me on this journey to make a positive impact in the world.
With gratitude,
Aaron D.
