It’s official… I signed up (again) for the OC Half Marathon on Sunday, May 3rd.
Some of you know my dad, Mike, is currently in the fight — five straight weeks of daily radiation, driving from Grants Pass to Medford every single day. We are praying hard that radiation alone does its job and chemo won’t be necessary.
Before I even realized it, running had already been on my heart again. This race became clear. This one is for my dad.
It’s also for my cousin Ky — cancer-free and in remission.
For Leo. For John. For Lou. For Heather.
For the ones still fighting.
And for the ones who no longer can.
Cancer has touched too many of us. It’s personal. It’s heavy. It’s relentless.
So this race is about fighting back. Every mile. Every step.
I’ve officially dedicated this half marathon to fundraising for the American Cancer Society again.
Maybe this is my last half marathon — I’m no spring chicken — but honestly? I feel stronger and healthier than I did last year. And I’m going to train smart, protect this body, pray my skin behaves, and give it everything I’ve got.
If you feel moved to donate, I would be so grateful.
If you feel called to pray, please pray:
• That my dad kicks cancer’s ass
• That radiation works and chemo isn’t needed
• For strength for him and for Roxey as she walks this with him
• That I train wisely and stay healthy
• For a cure
• For families carrying loss
• For anyone reading this who is fighting or has fought
If that’s you — this run is for you too. ♥️
EVERY STEP FOR A CURE.
