Please help me raise $1000 for grieving children and teens at Ele’s Place - West Michigan💙
A Quick Fun Fact
You may have noticed my fundraiser name is "Kristy McNuggets" - and yes, that is actually a real nickname from when I was little. One of my favorite aunts (Aunt Becki) gave me that nickname because I just loved chicken nuggets SO much. I thought it would be fun to share that little tidbit here, as once in awhile, if I'm lucky, she still calls me that today!
Why Ele's Place Matters to Me
I’m raising funds for Ele’s Place – West Michigan because this mission has been close to my heart for many years. I’ve been connected to Ele’s Place since 2014 when I began as a Volunteer Facilitator and now serve on the "small but mighty" Development team. I truly believe in the importance of providing specialized support to children and teens during one of the hardest times in their lives - while they are grieving.
My Personal Connection
This work is also personal for me. Over the years, I’ve experienced the death of several people I love, including my sweet infant nephew, Cooper, in 2015, and my dad, Rob, who died suddenly in early 2019. Grief can feel incredibly isolating, especially for young people. As hard as these things were as an adult, I can only imagine how difficult it would have been as a child. Ele’s Place exists to make sure no child has to navigate that journey alone.
What Ele’s Place Does
Through peer-to-peer grief support groups, Ele’s Place provides a safe space where kids and teens ages 3-18 can talk about their person, share their stories, and connect with others who truly understand. Even more incredible - these services are completely free for families, so that every child who needs support can access it. Ele's Place also provides on location, school-based grief support 100% free of charge to the community.
Help Me Reach My Goal
My goal is to raise $1000 to help keep these grief support groups free for the children and families who need them most. ($1000 is approx. how much it costs to provide services for one child for one full year.)
Whether it’s $10, $25, $50, or any amount that feels right to you, every donation helps keep grief support groups free for families. I would be so grateful for your support.
And who knows - maybe somewhere out there is another little kid, the age I was when I earned the nickname Kristy McNuggets, trying to make sense of a loss that feels too big. Supporting Ele’s Place helps make sure those kids have a place to go where they feel understood and supported. Thank you for considering.
