Hi friends!
This March, I’m running the Cambridge Half Marathon to support Run Your City, a nonprofit I’ve been lucky to help grow alongside some truly inspiring student-athletes and volunteers.
Our mission is simple: to make running accessible to every kid, especially those who might never otherwise reach their starting line. We partner with schools and communities where kids face real barriers — from cost and transportation to disability and exclusion — and create joyful, inclusive spaces where they can build confidence, community, and a love of movement.
What started 8 years ago as a small program in Virginia has now grown to over 50 chapters across the U.S., with international programs in Rwanda, Nigeria, and soon, India. We’re entirely volunteer-run, and every dollar raised goes directly to free programming, snacks, gear, and local support for the kids who need it most.
If we reach our $1,500 goal, it will help us launch new chapters this year and reach even more kids with the power of sport and belonging.
Every mile I run is for a child taking their first step forward. Thank you for believing in this mission and in what’s possible when we run together.
With love and gratitude,
Mary
P.S. If now’s not the right time, I’ll be running the San Francisco Marathon in July 2026 for Run Your City, and would be just as grateful to have your support then — whether cheering from afar or joining me on the course.
As we always say on our team... together we can 💛
