I'm proudly supporting Semper Fi & America's Fund as a Semper Fi & America's Fund Community Athlete. 

Semper Fi & America’s Fund cares for our nation’s critically wounded, ill, and injured service members, veterans, and military families. Supporting all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, they provide one-on-one case management, connection, and lifetime support.

One of many noteworthy things about this organization is the fact that since its inception 18 years ago, its overhead costs have been kept at only 9%.  This means that out of every dollar donated, ninety-one cents goes to help those who need it.

Of course, this means that minimal funds are available for advertising and marketing. Most promotion of this organization is done via word of mouth or by knowing someone who has benefitted from Semper Fi & America’s Fund's work, which brings me to how I came to know about this charity.

About Master Chief Jeffrey Perrone:

I came to know Master Chief Jeffrey Perrone and his wife, Angela though our mutual interest in living history and recreation. They were among the first people to welcome me when my career brought me to Providence, Rhode Island in 2012, and although our travels brought us to different parts of the country, we have remained in touch.

In July of 2022, Jeff was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer after his liver enzymes spiked and he went into organ failure.  Semper Fi & America’s Fund was there for him and his wife, Angela, as he underwent treatment.  In March of 2023, he entered palliative hospice care at the VA Hospital in Tampa. He died on the 18th of March, a week shy of his wedding anniversary and two weeks before his 43rd birthday.
