Big Brothers Big Sisters Miles for Mentorship 2024

We are excited to host our 4th Annual Miles for Mentorship event to support Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region’s mission to ignite the promise and power of youth! Miles for Mentorship is an outdoor, walk or run 5K. This year the event will be held at Hawk Island starting and ending at the Red Tail Shelter. Proceeds to this event help support the agency’s mission to create 1-to-1 mentoring relationships so that all youth achieve their full potential!  

Back again! children 12 years of age and under are invited to participate in our Spooky Sprint Kids Run! Halloween costumes are encouraged, and each participant will receive a treat bag at the finish line. The Spooky Sprint is free of charge!

Pricing: $25 until 9/22. $30 from 9/23 to 10/08. $35 10/09 to 10/14. Shirts are guaranteed with registrations thru 9/22. There is no race day registration. Online registration will remain open until 10/12.

Family pricing: $5 discount per participant when registering 3 or more people at the same time. The discount is automatically applied during checkout when you select multi-person pricing.

Race day packet pickup and runner registration: Will begin at 8:30 am at the race start area.

Get a cool race t-shirt: T-shirt is guaranteed with paid registration by end of day 9/22.  We are offering youth sizes small thru large, women sizes small thru XXL, and Men's size small thru 4X. Sizes are not guaranteed after 9/22, supplies available as they last.

T-shirts will not be mailed to Virtual Participants, please make arrangements to pick up at the office. We will contact you prior to the event with specific pickup days and times. 

Medals: Race medals will be given to participants who finish the 5k! 

Team Awards: Award for the Largest Team, The Most Spirited Team, and the Largest Fundraising Team. See Teams at the top of the page for more information. 

Awards: Overall Awards to Male Overall, Top Female Overall, Top Nonbinary Overall. Male and Female age groups: 1-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59,  60-69, 70-79, 80-99

Schedule: Spooky Sprint Kids Run starts at 9:30am. 5K starts at 10:00am.
