The Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Run and Family Walk presented by Highmark is 10 Years and Running! Help us celebrate 10 years on Sunday, October 9, at PPG Paints Arena. We are happy to offer in-person events including the 6.6K Run and 3.3K Family Walk, as well as a Virtual 6.6K. All proceeds benefit the cancer research and patient care initiatives of the Mario Lemieux Foundation and the youth initiatives of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.

**If you register after 10:00AM on Monday, October 3 for an in-person event, you will need to come to the registration area at packet pick-up to have a race number assigned.
**If you registered for an in-person event and do not attend, we will not mail your race packet! You can transfer to the virtual event using your RunSignUp account through October 8.
Race Start Time:
The 6.6K will start promptly at 8:00 AM; 3.3K walkers will line up behind runners and follow accordingly.
Race-Day Parking:
PLEASE BE ADVISED: There are multiple on-going construction projects around PPG Paints Arena and the surrounding area. This will impact your arrival times. Complimentary parking is available in the lots across the street from PPG Paints Arena using Bedford Avenue access, but many roads are down to a single lane. Please leave extra, extra time if you plan to park in these lots.
We suggest alternative parking and using the T for downtown transit.
Please plan to arrive by 6:30 AM, as lots will fill quickly, and the streets will close around the Arena in preparation for the race. Please leave extra time for arrival.
If you park in an Arena lot, please do not expect to leave until after 9:30 due to road closures around the Arena.
Course Map:
The course is slightly different from 2021. The start line is on Fifth Avenue near the People's Gate, and the finish line is on Centre Avenue near the Mario Lemieux statue outside the Highmark Gate. The full course map is below.
6.6K Raffle:
All participants in the 6.6K Run, 3.3K Walk and 6.6K Virtual Event are eligible for raffle prizes and will automatically be entered to win. Winning bib numbers will be selected at random. Prizes will be mailed to winners.
Age Group Prizes:
Age group awards will be mailed to winners. Virtual participants are not eligible for age category awards.
Race Transfers:
Participants can transfer between events, including between in-person and virtual, for a fee of $10.00 (plus the difference in event cost) through Saturday, October 8. If you registered for an in-person event and do not attend, we will not mail your race packet!

Thursday, October 6 PPG Paints Arena - FNB Gate 10:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Saturday, October 8 PPG Paints Arena - Highmark Gate 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Complementary parking will be available in the PPG Paints Arena lot across the street.
COVID 19 Protocols:
The Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Run and Family Walk will abide by all CDC, state and local guidelines. 6.6K policies may change as CDC, state and local guidelines are updated.
Can’t make it to Pittsburgh on October 9? Join the Virtual 6.6K and register and run your Virtual 6.6K anytime between your registration date and October 9. Please make sure to upload your virtual race time by October 9 by following instructions in your confirmation email. You must submit your time in order to receive the race shirt and medal. Virtual Race packets will be mailed the week of October 17. Shirt, medal and any earned fundraising prizes will be mailed together.
The event features a Bench to 6.6K program brought to you by Highmark Health. Starting in August, we will provide a training schedule and participants will work their way up to running a full 6.6K! More details announced when the program starts in August!

Participants are encouraged to become a 6.6K Fundraiser! Receive unique Penguins prizes and raise funds for the Mario Lemieux Foundation and Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation. To become a fundraiser, register for the race and select "Become A Fundraiser" during the registration process.
Fundraisers who raise a minimum of $166 will receive a custom 10 Years and Running 6.6K commemorative water bottle created specifically for Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K fundraisers.
Fundraisers who raise additional funds will be eligible for the following prizes (in addition to the water bottle listed above):
The Top 3 Overall Fundraisers, based on fundraising totals on RunSignUp at 8:00 AM EST on Sunday, October 9, will each receive two club level tickets to an agreed upon Pittsburgh Penguins home game during the 2022-23 NHL season.
Fundraisers can continue to raise funds through October 16 to win prizes.
By becoming a fundraiser, you have committed to raising a minimum of $166. Please note the cost of race registration does not count toward your your fundraising commitment.
Prizes earned through September 9 will be available for pickup with race packets at pre-race packet pickups or race day. All other prizes will be shipped after the race.

Returning for 2022! Want to get a Penguins medal for your pet? Register your four-legged friend for the Pet Walk presented by Clearview Federal Credit Union as part of the 3.3K in-person and 6.6K Virtual events! Select the Pet Walk add-on option during the registration process to register your pet, and the pet will receive a commemorative 6.6K medal for their collars. Dogs are not permitted to participate in the in-person 6.6K. Visit the FAQs for more information.
