Description
The K9 Candy Cane 5K Fun Run and Walk is held at the Renton Community Center Campus. Runners and walkers travel along the paved beautiful Cedar River Trail before looping back to the Community Center Campus. Competitive runners, fun runners, walkers and families (with or without) dogs are all invited to this annual event. Accurate and professional chip timing is provided by Bell Lap Productions. If registered before 10:00AM on Friday, November 22, participants will receive a hooded sweatshirt. Don't forget about our Annual Pet Food Drive for furry friends in need, help us FILL THE TRUCK!
Registration Windows:
- Early Bird Registration - August 28 to November 1.
- Ages 4 to 17 fee: $20 - Ages 18 and up fee: $28
- Standard Price Registration - November 2, ending at 10:00AM, November 22.
- Ages 4 to 17 fee: $27 - Ages 18 and up fee: $35
- Last Chance Registration - Begins 10:01AM November 22, through 1:00PM on Saturday December 1. Not eligible to receive a hooded sweatshirt, Fun Run Only.

Race Bib Number Pick Up:
If you have pre-registered, you may pick up your race bib and sweatshirt (if applicable) at The Renton Community Center, 1715 Maple Valley Hwy. Renton, 98057, Saturday, December 7, 9:30AM – 1:00PM. If you are picking up for family members or friends, you will need their race day registration confirmation. You will also have the opportunity to pickup your race bib and sweatshirt onsite the morning of the race.
Race Guidelines for Humans and Dogs:
- Strollers are welcome on the course for both humans and dogs.
- Participants NOT wanting to be timed should NOT pass through the finish line, please exit the course to the left or right prior to entering the timing chute.
- Your race bib is your timing chip. Please wear it outside of your clothing facing forward for accurate timing.
- Timing will conclude 45 minutes after the start of the race.
- Walkers stay to the right of the race course.
- Extra sweatshirts are NOT purchased and will NOT be available day of race.
- No more than two dogs per person.
- All dogs are required to be current on vaccinations.
- No dogs under six months of age.
- Dogs must be on leash no more than 6 feet in length.
- Owners are responsible for the well-being and safety of their dog(s) at all times
- No female dogs in heat.
- No aggressive dogs or aggressive owners. Any signs of aggression towards other dogs or participants will result in being asked to leave the event.
- Owners are responsible for always picking up after their dog(s).
Pet Food Drive:
Please bring a can/bag of pet food to be donated to local animals in need. Help us FILL THE TRUCK!

Course Closure:
Recreational walkers/runners are non-competitive and will not be timed if finishing after 45 minutes. If you are participating in this event but are not being timed please be considerate and not cross the finish line where timing is taking place. Keep to the right or left of the timing chute.
Awards and Results:
Awards will be given to the top three runners overall in female, male, non binary, and youth. Free event stickers will be included for all participants.
Hooded Sweatshirts:
After 10:00AM November 22, hooded Sweatshirts are no longer available. Extra sweatshirts are not purchased and will NOT be available at the end of the race. The sweatshirt size you selected is what's purchased. Sweatshirts are unisex sizing.
