IN-PERSON EVENT INFORMATION

We are very excited to offer the in-person Rage Against Addiction Memory Walk/ Recovery Run again this year!

We will gather together on Saturday, April 1st at Cedar Lane Regional Park to run or walk a 5K. For our serious competitors we have the option of a chip-timed 5K.

We will have various resources/speakers come out to share their knowledge and support services.

VIRTUAL CHALLENGE INFORMATION

Below are some tips to make sure you get the most out of your virtual challenge experience:

Join a Group/Team

During the registration process, you will have the option to start a new team or join an existing one. Connect with your family and friends to see what team can log the most miles!

Make an Extra Donation or Sign Up to Fundraise

You will also have a chance to make an extra donation or sign up to fundraise. Each dollar helps us provide awareness and support to anyone affected by drug and alcohol abuse. Donations will help us carry on our mission and continue offering our programs. (See below for more information regarding our programs.)

Receive Your Event Swag

We will have an opportunity for you to pick up your event materials at a Packet Pick-up (see date and time below). You will also have the option to have your race materials mailed to you for a small fee.

Start Walking or Running

You can run or walk anywhere you like: your neighborhood, your favorite trail, your treadmill, or your local park. Any miles accumulated during April will count toward the challenge!

Submit Your Miles

Each day, you can submit your miles on the runsignup.com results page. Miles will automatically update as they are submitted. You can check the results to see how you stack up against the competition. Note: your activity must be tracked as a Walk or a Run to be eligible for reporting. For example, accumulating general steps throughout the day will not count, but going for a walk or run or exercising in the gym or in your home on equipment will count. If you have questions about submitting your miles, don't hesitate to reach out to Charm City Run at events@charmcityrun.com.

View Your Progress Along the Way

We have created a route from the Bay Bridge to 37th street in Ocean City, MD (see award for highest fundraiser below). As you submit your miles you will be able to see your progress along the way. You can also earn fun digital milestone badges along the way as you reach certain mileage totals (eg. 25, 50, 75, 100)!

Share Photos

We would love to see pictures of you as you embark on this challenge. You can also submit photos of loved ones to celebrate their recovery or of loved ones lost to this disease. Feel free to post as many photos as you like during the mile reporting process or directly to the RunSignup photo page.

OC Eateries Fundraiser

Our Virtual Route ends in Ocean City, MD so what better way to bring more awareness about addiction and spread hope about recovery than for OC Eateries to host a fundraiser for Rage? Please stop in for some tasty food while supporting us.

We are looking for like-minded organizations, who support awareness for and can provide services for substance abuse disorder and/or mental health, to attend our end-of-virtual event fundraiser. Please signup here: Vendors

BENEFICIARY

Rage Against Addiction

Rage Against Addiction believes in Community, Sponsorship, and Teamwork. This organization has been built by those affected by addiction for those affected by addition. So many people do not understand its impact until their loved one suffers. We are a no judgement zone because we know that no family is immune to this powerful disease. We know we can’t go at it alone! We serve locally but think globally.

Mission Statement:  Rage Against Addiction provides awareness and support to anyone affected by the disease of addiction, including the family.

  • Daughter's House: Designed to assist women who are transitioning from substance abuse treatment to recovery; includes three sober living houses (Daughter’s House, Sister House, and The Cottage) located in the suburbs of Harford County, MD. The Cottage is a medication-assisted treatment (MAT) recovery house tailored to meet each person’s needs.
  • HALO (How to Live Without Our Addicted Loved One): An online grief support group specifically for those that lost loved ones to substance abuse.
  • RAA ABC (After Baby Care): Provides post-partum care packages for new mothers in early recovery.
  • Rage Club: Designed for children who are impacted by substance abuse disorder; we encourage open and ongoing conversations as we believe that is the first step in the healing process.
  • Sober Living Funding: provides financial support to qualified applicants in Maryland. Qualifications include but are not limited to verification and an interview. Availability is limited.
