Rebecca fought colorectal cancer long and hard for almost 5 years. She was strong, courageous, and never let anything get her down. She was constantly checking in on those around her, especially when it came to getting screened for colorectal cancer. Getting screened can seem scary or embarrassing, but it is a necessary part of living a healthy life. Thanks to the Boxer Brief 5k, we are Hitting Cancer Below the Belt (HCB2) and funding colorectal cancer screening programs for medical clinics that provide educational services to individuals, groups, and corporations for the purpose of defeating colorectal cancer.
Colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer in men and women and diagnosis is rising in younger communities. Timely screening and awareness about GI symptoms not to ignore is what saves lives. Rebecca was such an advocate for herself and her friends to seek medical attention for GI symptoms.
