Description
Recent events have forced to me to revisit my privilege in a challenging way. I’m figuring out how to find my voice in all of this - what I can do to change 400 years of systemic injustice.
What started as a small, personal fitness goal has grown into a fight against racial violence and inequality. I'd like to invite friends and family to join me in an opportunity to take action. This year for my 27th birthday, I'll be hosting a 27K race against racism, ‘Run for Racial Justice’. Participants are welcome to run, hike, bike, skateboard, whatever gets you moving - it can be in one day or over the course of many. The official race day will be Sunday, August 30th. With three months to go, my hope is that we can get as many participants as possible and that people who want to train for the full 27K can do so. One hundred percent of all entry fees will be donated to the NAACP and the Equal Justice Initiative.
I hope you’ll join me in a commitment to do more and be better.

FAQ
How does virtual Run for Racial Justice work?
Unlike other races, your virtual run can be completed any time. As you run or walk, outside or on a treadmill, please keep your safety and the safety of others in mind and observe all social distancing guidelines. Race packets will be sent out a week prior to the official race date of August 30th. Whether you’re running the full 27K or walking a mile with your cat, know that we are all going miles together.
How do I track my time/pace?
Virtual Run for Racial Justice is completely on the honor system. You are not required to prove your participation, but are encouraged to send or upload photos of you running, a video of your run, or a shot of your fitness watch, step counter, or anything else that shows how far you’ve come.
Can I run from another state?
Join me from any location and let me know where you’re from on social media! #runforracialjustice
