*UPDATE 3/30/25* Thanks so much for helping me reach my initial fundraising goal! Increasing the goal to $1,600—let's see if we can raise even more for OLCF :)
Help support One Love Community Fridge as I prepare to run in the Vacation Races Yosemite Half Marathon!
Hi, I’m Sam! In May 2025, I’m running the Yosemite Half Marathon (my first half marathon ever!) in support of One Love Community Fridge , an organization working to fight food insecurity and increase access to healthy foods through community fridges in NYC. I've committed to raising $1,000 for OLCF, and I'd love your help in reaching my goal.
Why One Love?
OLCF is an amazing organization that I've had the pleasure of working with and volunteering for. They've built such a thoughtful, multi-faceted, and robust approach to tackling the issue of hunger and doing so in a way that's dignified, empowering, not to mention joyful—join one of their produce packing days or check out one of their fridges in person to see what I mean—and truly rooted in love for the community. In addition to collecting donations for stocking fridges (rescuing millions of pounds of food that would otherwise go to waste), OLCF collaborates with local schools, farms, chefs, and small businesses to develop programming aimed at engaging and connecting the community in conversation around the power of food. Now more than ever, in times of uncertainty and precarity, I find hope and inspiration in organizations like OLCF—deeply intersectional, community-centered and grounded in mutual aid—as we all engage in the collective work of building a better future that nourishes us all. I'm so honored to be supporting their mission!
My Fundraising Goal
To earn my Charity Bib, I need to raise $1,000 by April 26, 2025. Every donation, big or small, helps One Love Community Fridge continue to stock fridges and feed neighbors in need.
