African Road builds long term relationships with local Changemakers, for the life, health and growth of communities in East Africa. As a non-profit organization, and as friends and partners, African Road comes alongside Changemakers through collaborative project development and strategic funding. You are invited to join the growing story of community-led transformation.
I was blessed to have attended the 1st vision trip in 2007 to Rwanda in the nascent stages of African Road. Busy doing international ministry work in South Africa at the time through NieuCommunities, African Road founder and longtime friend/spiritual mentor Kelly Bean invited me on this trip, and I joined it with an eclectic South African branch of inspiring folk. I made lifelong connections on that trip, including with pastor Steven Turikunkiko, an instrumental Changemaker in African Road. Steven introduced me to a widow and we instantly bonded, became penpals, and I casually fundraised to help her children complete their educations. That was just one example of how friendships can change the world, and the work of African Road includes thousands more such stories, although the majority of them are local, on the ground in East Africa. I'm honored to continue supporting African Road on their journey and hope you will consider joining us as such change can only be made together.
